Surviving Dave are Tom, Angela’s husband, Jeff, Arielle’s husband, and Colin, Rebecca’s husband. Additionally, Dave’s nieces Laura and Carolyn, who is married to Adam, as well as his great-nephews Luke and Theo, and great-nieces Ellie and Nora, all survive him. Clarence and Babs, Dave’s parents, both tragically passed away before his birth, which is an immense sorrow. Dave was not only a beloved member of his family, but he also excelled as a brother and uncle, leaving a significant void in the lives of his loved ones and friends. Due to his youthful nature, he formed unique connections with each of his nieces and nephews right from the start.

Some people fondly called him “Uncle Baby” because he had a remarkable ability to connect with them on an equal level. His ability to establish meaningful connections with others was one of his most prominent characteristics. His touch bestowed a unique irreverence that infused our lives with joy and happiness. He made physical contact with every object. Dave’s visits to his relatives in Toronto and Victoria, as well as his sojourns at the family cabin at Lake of the Woods, were highly anticipated occasions that should not be overlooked. Dave made sure not to miss his visits to his family in Toronto and Victoria.

Dave’s formative years were spent at River Heights, where he earned his education at Grosvenor, River Heights, and Kelvin schools. After finishing his high school education, he proceeded to pursue his studies at the University of Winnipeg Collegiate and ultimately obtained his degree. Dave’s foray into the film industry commenced during his youth, when he founded a Film Club at Kelvin High School. Dave developed a keen interest in movies and initiated his engagement in the film industry during his early years.

Upon fulfilling the necessary criteria for his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Manitoba, he joined forces with his brother Alan to co-author, oversee, and revise four films. As a result, he was able to meet the necessary requirements for the degree. Throughout his time there, he also obtained a minor in film studies. Even today, a portion of his work may still be observed at this site. Furthermore, he obtained a degree in Creative Communications from Red River College, where he also successfully completed his studies.
