Kristin Davis Responds To A Fan Who Suggests Charlotte And Mr. Big Are One Of The 'Lost Couples' On

It looks like Sex and the City fans are getting their heartstrings pulled by Charlotte York Goldenblatt herself. Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte in the hit HBO series, recently responded to a comment about what might have been between her character and Chris Noth’s Mr. Big if the two happened to end up together in the show.

“THE LOST COUPLES OF SATC. Enough with Carrie and Big, today we are delving into the greatest Sex and the City couples that never were…” the Instagram fan account @everyoutfitonsatc wrote about some characters from the series, which previously aired for six seasons from 1998 to 2004.

THE LOST COUPLES OF SATC Enough with Carrie and Big, today we are delving into the greatest Sex and the City couples that never were… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Enid and Petrovsky – Enid had a right to be annoyed with Carrie’s mildly sus age-gap relationship, because The Russian is the ONLY man for her. They’re both career-focused and excessively highbrow. We can easily imagine them dining with Plum Sykes and Larry Gagosian or shopping for matching Goyard trunks at Barneys. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣ Steve and Carrie – Carrie should be with someone laid-back and unfussy. While not as sophisticated as Big, Steve would have shown her all the best vintage spots in Queens. THAT is true love. His chill athleisure looks would also mesh well with Carrie’s kookier ensembles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣ Miranda and Syd – Miranda’s straight male colleague was perceptive as fuck, because this is the EXACT person that Miranda should be set up with. Syd is chill, boyishly handsome, and has the sort of Tig Notaro energy that Miranda desperately needs in her life. We ship the FUCK out of this coupling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4️⃣ Charlotte and Big – These two would make a truly hot couple. Given Big’s previous wives, Charlotte is his type: thin, brunette, and WASPy. Her optimism would also balance out his sociopathic finance bro tendencies. We can totally see them deciding which Ed Ruscha would look best in their pre-war apartment, before jetting off to the Hamptons.

After the fan account suggested that Charlotte and Mr. Big could have made a nice pair, Kristin voiced her expert opinion. “I personally think Big would have broken Charlotte,” Kristen, 53, replied. “Though probably some fun would have been had before the inevitable downfall.”

While fans began fantasizing about what could’ve been between Mr. Big and Charlotte, it’s important to remember that Chris’ character ultimately ended up marrying Carrie Bradshaw — who was played by Sarah Jessica Parker — in the 2010 Sex and the City movie. However, even if fans speculate the “what-ifs” of Mr. Big and Charlotte’s relationship, it was revealed just last month that had a third SATC movie had been created, Chris’ character may have been killed off.

This information came to light when one of the series’ writers, Michael Patrick King, sat down with Kristin, Sarah Jessica, and Cynthia Nixon — who played Miranda Hobbes — to speak about the potential threequel on James Andrew Miller’s podcast in November. At the time, the podcast host claimed that he previously saw an early version of the script that revealed that Mr. Big was dead.

So how did Mr. Big feel about being Mr. Dead? Well, he didn’t believe it. “He wasn’t going to die,” the 64-year-old actor insisted to The Sun Online at the British Independent Film Awards in London on Dec. 9. “That was all a lie.” We don’t know who or what to believe anymore!
