Meghan Markle Prince Harry Left Out of Kate Middleton Health Updates
The entire world seems to be wondering what exactly is going on with Kate Middleton — and Kensington Palace is assuring the entire world that she's fine and that she was never even expected to come back to work until Easter — and according to sources close to the royals, even Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are being kept in the dark when it comes to the details of the Princess of Wales's recovery. Family sources told People that the Firm doesn't trust the Sussexes with any information and that they're being "left out" of the details surrounding Kate's health.
"They are aware of everything that goes on back in England but are being left out of any details regarding Kate," a source close to the royal household shared. "There is clearly no trust."
While there may be no "trust" between the California-based royals and the U.K. contingent, Harry did pay a visit to his father in February after King Charles shared that he'd been diagnosed with cancer. However, the quick trip didn't involve any Facetime between Harry and his brother, William, further cementing rumors of an ongoing rift between the two. A former courtier told People that William's "principal concern is his wife" and that he didn't feel the need to see Harry during his visit.
"It would be the normal run of things to go and see your sister-in-law who's had a serious operation, and also see your niece and nephews. But it isn't normal. It's terribly sad," a second source added at the time.
However, there isn't any bad blood between Prince Harry and Queen Camilla, who was in the room with him and his father when they had their 30-minute meet-up. Royal insiders echoed today's sources, saying that Prince William doesn't trust his brother with any information that may be seen as sensitive.
"This is all to do with William's wish to protect the institution of the monarchy, which he feels Harry can't be trusted with. I don't think William will ever agree to readmission of Harry into the family unless he clearly apologizes and moves forward," royal author Robert Lacey told People.
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Harry spoke about his relationship with his family.
"Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that," he said.
